Engine sabatage Robert 5-22-06
Here's the problem!
1. In December my 1997 Chevy Ventura cracked a intake gasket, A new set of gaskets were purchased and installed, this only took 5 weeks. I went to pick up the vehicle on a thursday and they stated that it wouldn't be ready until the next day...friday. I picked it up late friday and drove it home. Saturday the vehicle had a knock in the engine, not bad but a knock. Sunday the knock was louder.. Monday I called a the garage said that it should go away. I checked the oil for water and there was none, but there was a string smell of transmission fluid on the dip stick. I drove the car back to the mechanic and he stated the the engine had gone sore and I had blown the engine. Question, By putting transmission fluid in the oil to silence the knock cause the bearings to spin and blow the engine? Sense then a I purchased another engine but the mechanic has delayed in stalling for 3 months. Did he cause the engine to spin the bearing?

Who installed atf in your engine?
did you drive at high speed or tow while running the atf in the engine?
what oil filter were you using on the engine? cw
