1965 Chevy truck engine Dean 3-23-06
I have a '65 Chevy truck with a 230 ci in line six cylinder engine with about 65K miles. Recently engine oil is finding its way into the coolant at a pretty good rate.It runs perfectly otherwise. Any ideas of what may be cracked/broken?

Hi Dean,If this motor has the original head gasket I'd start there. They can corrode away at the water jacket over time. Let us know what you find. Rich

The head gasket is only a couple of years old. I pulled it today and it looks fine. A mechanic friend of mine suggested the possibility of a cracked head. No obvious cracks there either. I'm wondering if it's worth the trouble, time and money to have it tested or should I just replace the whole engine.........long block.
