HOLLEY CARB 460 BACK FIRE JOHN 3-23-06
AFTER A COUPLE OF MINUTES WHEN THE MOTOR HOME IS RUNNING I HEAR A POP LIKE A BACK FIRE COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE COWL. WHERE IS THIS COMING FROM THE CARB? IT IS NOT A BIG NOISE JUST A SMALL POP. IT HAPPENS JUST ONCE THEN THATS IT. THANKS
Re: HOLLEY CARB 460 BACK FIRE cowboyz 3-24-06
Check carb float setting to see if it is flooding,
check firing order from sparkplug wires, and the wires themselves

check timing,

check if ignition system is properly working,
depends if electronic or points,

just replace all condensors (capaticors)in distributor (points) or external for electronic ignition,

if cap and wires are old, replace them
instead of testing them
replace plugs with quality new plugs, since nothing lasts forever

then check if cam / timing chain is not properly aligned/ degreed,
