Has anyone used a NAPA water pump on this motor and what model pump did you use as there are 4 modles to choose from. I guess I should buy a factory OEM pump yes or no ??

Thanks

I have used the NAPA new, and rebuilt pumps. I haven't had any problems with them. The OEM is the best, but quite costly.

I really like the new-made aftermarket water pumps from Auto Zone. I've installed them on two of our vehicles and found them to be superior in quality to OEM and waaaaay better than rebuilt.
There is nothing more disheartening than changing a water pump, installing the cheap rebuilt one and having it leak like crazy, even after letting it "run in".
Plus the Auto Zone ones come with a lifetime guarantee.
Personally I think it is best (when possible) to remove the water pump first before buying the new one. In this way one can know what other parts are needed to finish the installation correctly and if it is time to change the timing chain/gear. - Good Luck!

My gut has been telling me the same about the OEM part vs the others. It was the cheapskate in me that was looking at the lower priced. I can't get it out of my mine how long and what a pain it was working on my stomach on top of the dog house. I am buying a OEM. Thanks for your comment.
