A service engine soon light usually comes on for a reason. First check everything you can. Then disconnect the battery for 30 seconds. If it reappears, you may have a problem. Let us know how you make out.
Thanks joe funny after i asked the question i went outside and saw something hanging down it was part of the oxogen senser replaced it this morning light went off passed smog beautifully thanks again for a quick response happy motoring bob
1988 buick lesabre 3.8 orange service engine soon lite would come on after driving for ten minutes-auto zone scanned it -said camshaft sensor and egr was bad-i had the them replaced and the plugs and plug wires replaced also-within a month the orange service engine soon lite came on and now it stays on all the time-i was told to disconnect the battery cable and connect it back up to reset the computer-but the lite still stayed on--is that the proper way to reset the computer--the car runs fine, but i noticed that i had a drop in my gas miledge--i would appreciate a reply-that lite is driving me nuts
