Timing Chev 454 D.J. 1-25-02
I have a 1989 Pathfinder Class A Motorhome with a Chev 454 engine. The timing markings are on the bottom of the engine instead of on the top. Can anyone tell me what spark plug to use and what degree before or after top dead center it should fire?
Re: Timing Chev 454 Randy 2-28-02
You should have the timing spec on your air cleaner housing on a tag. my 88 454 ci has a spec of 6 degrees btdc. if the pointer is on the bottom twords the drivers side use #5 or #8. if it has a vac. line on the advance unit make sure to disconnect and plug it while you make the timing adj.I have a 1989 Pathfinder Class A Motorhome with a Chev 454 engine.
