Onan genny elect problem Scott 3-12-08
Ok, I have a problem and made it worse. First off my generator is an Onan Marquis 7000 in my '92 Bounder 34j. The problem is that the generator runs fine for awhile then surges and stalls. When running, it runs fine so I've isolated it down to a fuel supply problem. I believe that it is either the wiring to the fuel pump or the pump itself. Secondary problem...while the genny was surging I went outside and tried to mess with the wiring on the pump to see if the gen would continue to run. Well in doing so, I managed to make contact between both poles on the pump shorting out the generator. Ugh! Now I suspect it is a blown fuse but where the heck is it??? I cannot locate it. An alternative model to mine has a fuse holder on the front but mine does not. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated since I am on my external generator right now here in the desert.

Any chance you figured this out? I'm dealing with the same problem.
