Aux Battery not charging T. Partlow 9-24-01
I have a Winnebego Minnie 300 that has problems charging the Aux battery. It doesn't seem to matter if it is running off of the 6.5kw generator or plugged into normal AC. The solenoid at the rear of the Aux. Battery compartment has burned up 2 times now, but I can't find any shorts on the DC Line. I do not presently have a schematic for the charging circuit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Battery checks good T. Partlow 9-25-01
Had battery checked. It is O.K.. The other problem is that the solenoid that switches between the truck battery & the aux. battery has burned up 2 times. I have not been able to find a short anywhere in the DC line and am out of ideas about where to look.

I am with Bob on this one. just because you have a plastic box with two cables attached to it, doesn't mean you have a battery. Have it checked , but bet it needs replaced

Those solenoids go a long time for $15.00 , if your burning them out are you sure the truck isnt starting using the house batts?

A voltmeter on the house batt , should show NO volt drop when you start the engine.
