I have an issue that im hopeing somebody could help me with...I keep having to jump start my battery so i can take my rv camping...And the funny thing is when i turn on my headlights the motor just cuts off...Does anyone have an idea of what might be causing this issue...Thanks in advance for any and all input.
Re: head lights BUBBA THE BUS TECH 8-14-08
Without further testing it sounds like a dead battery and dead alternator. The symptoms could also be caused by a bad battey conection, bad power conection from alternator to battery, bad ground, bad battery, bad starter etc. Then we get into more dificult stuff. Check battery voltage before trying to start. Check charging voltage at the battery, be sure to check in the battery itself not the conectors on the cables. Once the engine is running it can keep the engine going but prevent the battery from charging properly. If it doesn't show up on these basic tests call around and see what parts shop does free starting charging system checks in your area. They should be able to test all the components in your system quickly. Good Luck
