Post New Message The thing you havent mentioned testing is the transfer switch. It simply allows the genset to power your unit and makes sure it does not back poer to the utility or vise versa. a switch can go bad. Either one of the contacts burns out or the switch fails on way or the other. Working correct it will get power from the gen set then wait 20 seconds (varies) then turn off the utillity and load the generator. Trace the wiring from your genset to the unit and at a spot the genset and shore power wiring will meet. that box will contain the change over. good luck
