1979 Dodge brave clutch problem Piers FitzGerald 12-9-07
Hello!

I'm in the UK and saw a 1979 Winnebago Dodge brave (auto) for sale and was considering buying it. Owner says clutch has gone. Anyone know what involved to remove/replace clutch? Cost of parts in US? Don't know anything about Winnebagos but seen plenty in the US and like them. Seems cheap $1600! Any advice would be most welcomed. Many thanks.

If you have what I think it is. A Dodge V8 in a motor home with an auto trans. When one of the clutches goes it requires a transmission overhaul. In Canada currently a transmission overhaul including Remove and reinstalling transmission would cost $600. to $1200. Canadian depending on internal damage. Most of these units had what Dodge called a Tourqe flyte 8 trans or 727 if the unit is old enough. Same trans just the name changed. If it has a 6 cyl motor it may have a difrent trans (904) but the same rules apply. Good Luck
