4L80 wiring issue Andrea 10-19-07
Just bought a 93 2500 4x4 wiring is a disaster can someone tell me what wires run directly to the transmission and what kind of plug they need. it runs strong but can't get it to shift out of 2nd it tries any suggestions or knowledge would be greatly appreciated

Well lets see

There are some shifting solenoids on the 4L80E and 4L60E trannys you have to drop the pan and there ones that
shift from 1-2,and 2-3,and 3-4, then a TCC ones that locks in Torq.convert, too.

For as the wiring issues they run in
different location to the transmission
and long as there all connected that shouldn't be the problem and it would most likely be one of the solenoids.
I am experiencing so issue myself with
the 4L80E tranny to which has worked real well for over 212,000 miles and now it's giving me some trouble to which I am trying to figer out myself.
but this much I can offer to try and see if it takes care of the problem.
You can do the code test for your transmission and it will give numbers to what solenoid is acting up ! The Haynes automotive books that sold at the auto parts will have some information and all the code information for the treanny test to reference to a causing problem
