Allison Econo Mode J. Mizell 3-7-07
I recently acquired a low mileage 93 Holiday Rambler Endeavor diesel pusher with a 6 speed Allison world transmission. My question - the electronic shifter shows an "economy mode" with a button to put in or take it out of economy mode. However, according to the tachometer, there is no change in rpms when I engage or disengage this mode. Does anyone know what should be happening?
Re: Allison Econo Mode Jeff 6-30-07
I have a '95 and this 'econ mode' just changes the shift points of the trans. Best used on flat ground on the freeway.
Re: Allison Econo Mode RLewis 1-11-08
The computer has two calibrations for engine RPM.when in eco mode the calibration drops approx.200RPM below performance mode which is the normal cal.this makes the trans upshift sooner.Maybe some better mpg,but also low power.

Thanks for the info on econo mode. Got rid of that MH. Have another one now.
Same transmission. Indicator doesn't show change to lower gear when transmission downshifts. It does show what gear it's in when I manually downshift. Any suggestions, or is this normal? Thanks
