I just had a tranmission fluid puke from my 89 Ford Ranger PU after a hard climb uphill last week. Upon consultation with an experienced mechanic, he advised me to wait for the vehicle to cool for at least three hours or overnight then fill the tranny fluid up to level and drive it home. To my surprised, it worked like he stated. My best trouble shooting guessed is that my truck transmission overheated and blew the front tranny seal. When the tranny cooled, it must have created a vacuum in the tranny to sucked the seal back in. Does anyone know of a remedy to prevent this from happening? |
