I don't know that my problem is the same as yours. my 97 6.5 Suburban was going into limp mode from O/D back into 3rd and staying there after a hill or heavy load. I'd stop, shut it down and restart after 30 seconds and it would be fine for a while. After checking this and that, I found the water temp sensor wiring harness on top and between the rad and intake manifold, had shed its' heat protection, was rubbing and shorting out on the intake manifold. A little elctrical tape and heat shield and she's been cruising ever since...... I hope this helps. This probably isn't the solution you're looking for but it may show a different direction is needed... Track your wiring, and look for shorts from rubbing. It worked for me... Good luck! |
