The tranny has been great for the year I owned the vehicle.

After a month of a 'melting plastic odor' the transmission will not do anything other than REVERSE or FIRST.

I checked the Ignition switch since it appears that the molded plastic may have been heated and the contacts sunken.

The Key positions are not giving the dash lights the same sequence. At key out the lights are ON. At accessory the situation is nornal. At Ignition ON the lights are normal. Always, whatever the key position the starter is activated.

The LIFT PUMP is always activated except in the NEW POSITION i have created between Key out and on.

It appears that there is no supply to the transmission ECM or the unit.

Has anyone had this experience and if so what cure is there?

Is it that a new switch will return the transmission to life? In all circumstances? Or is there likely other faults awaiting discovery?

thanks
