I have a 95 chevy c2500 5.7L 4l80e, the ses light comes on and then the trans will shift very hard between 1 and 2. When the light goes off everything is normal. This happens when cold or hot.The only code I get is 43. This was an intermittent problem, I could clear the code and drive for a day, but now I clear the code and the ses light comes on and stays on as soon as I start the truck. I have replaced the knock sensor and that did'nt change anything. Pulled trans pan and the fluid was very clean, changed the fluid and filter, and still same problem. The day this started happening, I noticed that the trans was making a slight whining noise that was'nt there before. The whining noise is noticable in park and gets a little louder in gear. The truck has 330,00 miles on it, but the engine and trans have only 80,000. Can the knock sensor circuit cause this problem with the trans shifting so hard, or can the trans have a problem and cause code 43? Thank You.
