Orion bus wheelchair lift problem k 10-18-05
I need help long distance troubleshooting 1990 orion transit bus conversion.Wheelchair lift is stuck 1/2 in.Caught on door sweep-stopped-won't move now. Is there an override mechanism or safety switch? I also have a problem with the headlights/running lights not working when the brake lights/tail lights are on. suggestions? Is there an easy access point to bypass the existing wiring and install separate switches and wiring to both the head lights/ running lights and the tail lights/brake lights. Help!!! I need to get this on the road to get it home where I can work on it!!!! Where I can see it myself!!!

What type of Orion is it?There should be a wheelchair lift overide switch, it may be located in the circuit/electricl panel.Your lift may be out of the track, in which case you would need to pry it back up into the track.I would recomend getting rid of the lift to reduce the weight of the bus if its for a conventional conversion and aslo to reduce problems.

Check the brake lights when the bus is in drive. My 1988 Orion brakes lights stay on unless in gear. The headlight may be a circuit breaker issue.
