I have a 69 Eagle with a V8-71 Detroit. I need to install a block heater but can't seem to find a good Freeze plug to use. Any suggestions? And where is the closest plug to reach and what size?

I'm no expert, However i own an 8v71 that has an block heater in the right-hand side toward the back of motor, about midway up the block you should see the plug.
