MAN Differentials Joel N-Cal 11-18-04
I am looking for owners of MAN and New Flyers which have MAN planetary differentials.
I have managed to find an after market supplier for planetary hubs which will raise the road speed. These hubs allow for a road speed of around 72 MPH.
It is necessary to do a group buy to get the price down. Anyone who is interested should contact me via email.

IS this for the 4.64 ratio or the 4.04? both are available from MAN

What is the road speed on these units? If you have the manuals, look up the part numbers for the ring an pinion assembly or get the numbers off the tag on the differential. Email them to me directly.

BTW someone was looking for contacts for articulated buses on www.busnut.com

I will be need to purchase a 4.04 in about a month and a half. I am currently converting an 86 SL40102. I really like the coach. Do you have an other ideas or words of wisdom reguarding this conversion? I did a lot of research on MAN and am very impressed with their workmanship/reputation. The only place I have been able to locate parts for this coach is the MAN plant in florida. Any other helpful info would be greatly appreciated. BTW does anyone have any photos of converted MANs?

This change will work better on the 4.64. Road speed at 2100 rpm will be increased from 57 mph to 80 top end.
Most of the units I am aware of use 5.22 and it changes top end to about 71 mph.

I currently own 2 man buses. they are the SG220 model. That is a 1978 articulated bus. I do not know much about these buses except that we have started out on this conversion endevor and it has been more than we bargained for (most incredible things are. If anyone has any info that will help me, I am interested. If one of these differentials is usable for me, I am definately interested. Thanks, I hope to hear from you soon
