I have a 1976 Flxible cities transit type, and lately the main shutoff switch does not shut the engine off and I have to use the emergency shut off switch, will this cause any harm to engine? The switch works in all other positions, any ideas?

When you say emergency switch are you talking about the dump lever? Ck that the skinner valve mounted on the governor plate (it strikes the curved lever) isnt leaking air when you turn the main switch off. The u-cup inside gets brittle and leaks, also the bore in the valve wears.
