A buddy was driveing my 79 rts bus vin# TH8603148 that's broke down in Canada.need to find out what # transmisson(it's a 3 speed auto.) can any body help?
It sounds like it is an Allison V-730. If it is it should have a tag on the left side of the transmission towards the back. What is wrong with the transmission? Where in Canada is it broke down?
I HAVE A 1978 RTS BUS WHICH I'M IN THE PROCESS OF CONVERTING INTO AN RV. UP TO A LITTLE WHILE A GO I WAS ABLE TO TURN ON THE ENGINE FROM THE FRONT OF THE BUS WITH A SWITCH BY THE DRIVER'S SIDE. NOW, I CAN ONLY TURN THE ENGINE ON FROM THE REAR OF THE BUS. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW I CAN SWITCH IT BACK SO THAT I'M ABLE TO START THE ENGINE FROM THE FRONT OF THE BUS AGAIN? PLEASE ADVISE! THANK YOU.

Sorry about the e-mail name, most rear start busses have a switch, rear start in the rear start box which locks out the front switch. Try flipping it one way then the other.
