Re: GMC - RTS (40 feet of pure fun!) by Mark Barrett
Post New Message I'm converting a 1986 40'er RTS myself. Been working on it about a year so far. On your windows, you can replace the lexan windows with DOT saftey glass, however, it is about as half as thick as the existing windows that came with your bus. They sell a filler seal that takes up the extra room left when you put in the saftey glass. I have not done this to my bus as of yet but I will soon. I think the supplier is Curved Glass Specialties, Co. I'll have to see if I can get the Number if your interested. The window assembly is removed by sliding the window off the rubber hinge. The easier way would be to remove the driprail with the window attached in sections as wide as each window and then separate the window from the driprail with the assembly on the ground.

Have fun.
Mark
