School v transit nat 12-16-03
What should i be aware of in making my decision between a transit and school bus for my conversion? thanks
Re: school v transit Joel 12-19-03
Condition, miles, type of components, road speed. Areas for underfloor components ie, holding tanks, generator, extra batteries ect. Spring or air suspension, type and condition of tires. Exterior that is in good repair. Pay more for a mechanically sound unit, repairs and modifications are very costly.

Most of all, what exterior appearance is going to please you when you are done.

Joel brings up several good points.

Spending a little bit more for a newer or better mechanically sound bus is going to cost less in the long run.

Another consideration you need to think about is what you are going to use your bus to do. If you are going to be spending most of your time on the interstate going from state to state, a school bus is probably not your best choice. If you are going to be spending a lot of time off the main roads or going off paved roads a school bus may be your best choice.

In the bus world, there is no one bus that is perfect for all applications or individuals. Only you can decide what is best for you.

Good luck and happy trails.
