903 Cummins in American Flyer Michael James 10-28-03
We have and very much like our 1982 Flyer with a 903 turbo Cummins. What modifications we plan to do on the exterior are done. Now, we need to make a hard decission: while the engine runs great it COULD poop out on us. Finding someone to rebuild our Cummins is very difficult and very very expensive. What fits into the 903 space??? What have others of you done with this delima?

Michael,
Just a thought, before you go to all the trouble of replacing you engine, Find a qualified 903 mechanic to survey it. Most diesel engines that are in good shape give us many years of good service. While the 903 is a unusual configuration, it is still a Cummins and most big bore menchanics should be able to trouble shoot, tune up, or repair it.

I am looking for a 903 cummins to put in a 900 Versatile farm tractor. What are the hp and torque specs on an engine. What would the price be on that same unit. Another question I have is I was wondering if you had anything that has a turbo.
