Changing the 2-cycle DD out of an Eagle can be done. In fact, with enough money you can do just about anything if you want to. The question comes down to, "What are you trying to accomplish?"
Changing the 8V-71 out for an 8V-92T would be a fairly easy swap but you would still have a 2-cycle DD.
Changing the 8V-71 out for a DD Series 50/60 or a Cummins 350/400 BCIII can be done but you are looking at upwards of $10-15K to have the job done.
Is your problem really worth that much $$$$?
