Spots on windows..removable? Bonnie 7-28-03
Our '83 MC9 has spots on the windows, it looks like after it rains and all the water (and dirt) has dried on. I haven't figured out anything to remove them. I tried rubbing compound and vinegar, neither one worked at all. I'm assuming this must be a fairly common problem. Anyonw been able to remove them? Thanks!

The spots can be removed from glass but if it is on plastic, good luck!

I have used a product to some success that I purchased at NAPA, the name of which escapes me.

I put some on a cloth, wiped it onto the glass, and then basically polished the glass with the product.

It took several applications to make some improvement. It didn't take all of the spots off of the glass but it was a whole bunch better after the application.

Good luck.

Your bus has contracted a rare condition
WEATHER or not you are aware of it. Simply turn the odometer back to zero; you will find not only that the spots are gone, but the paint will be brand new also!
Seriously though, try oooo steel wool or use a phosphoric acid solution, warning: dont get it on other surfaces, or rinse it off immediately if you do.
Good luck, and good visibility!

The spots are caused by hard water mixed with the various acids that are found in bus washes that do not soften their wash water and rinse water. The only way to remove the spots completely is to change to glass. Next best thing is to polish the glass with an ultra-fine paste polish. Not an easy job and many times can only be done by a professional that has the experience to do it correctly.
