Re: Gmc RTS Bus D. Farnworth 11-1-01
Depending on where you live, check out the local salvage yards. Many RTS buses that are no longer capable of being used for transit purposes are sold out as scrap. This doesn't mean that they are junk, just that they don't meet the requirements of transit company. I have bought 3 RTS's so far and all of them came from the scrap yard for less than 2 cents per pound. You can also check eBay, as they usually have some for sale there. One more place to check is The Ohio Transit Museum web site HTTP://www.OMOT.org. R.D.Childs who is a regular on the boards there is very knowledgeable about buses in the Pitsburgh area.
I hope this helps.
