I have a 1990 Rockwood, and on the rear pair of lifters, the chain has come disconnected from the spring inside the metal casings. I'm having a real hard time figuring out how to get to the spring to reattach the chain. I'm even considering cutting a section out of the metal casing, repairing the chain, and then replacing the missing section with sheet metal.
Is this something that would work? If not, what is the best way to get at the spring?
Is it possible to replace the plastic tracks for the sliding windows of this older 5th wheel. The tracks are in very sad shape and it is difficult if not impossible to open the windows. Where would I purchase the new tracks?
Mike or Hector, if you have pictures of what you did(or do) to your popup, that would be great. I have a 1979 Rockwood popup as well, and as you may have noticed, information about this make and year is rare!!!!!!!

My nephew is trying to repair his 1981 Rockwood. The lift chain came off and would not roll the camper up. He got the chain back on but now it will only roll about halfway up and then it stops. Any suggestions on how to make it roll all the way up?
I have either a broken chain or a broken pusher cable on a Rockwood. Do I need to cut the guide to get to the chain? It doesn't look like too much of a fun time trying to feed everything back through the closed guide assembly.
Trying to replace my lift cable on my rockwood camper but it looks like the cable is in a sealed track that im having issues trying to locate the bracket to stick the new cable in.The other four cables are good its just the main cable snapped.By the way mine is a ninety eight dont know if you can help me

I have a 1981 rockwood pop up...just bought it and went raising for the first time,all 4 corners raised about a foot and then there a clunking noise and now only the rear of the camper goes up and down....any ideas on where to start ?
I am trying to raplace a broken chain in the lift system of my 1987 rockwood pop up/ I can not find a manual for it. Three out of four of the lift stantions won't raise. I have taken out most of the cabinets. I saw the broken chain laying there. I need some help on how to fix this.

I have a 1997 Rockwood pop-up camper. I need a new Cable and the floorboard is weak in the entrance. The rodents (Field Mice and Squirrels) eat away at some of the vinyl and screen.
We have a 1995 rockwood pop up the cable snapped right at the crank. Is it an easy repair to fix this? we had it priced out at 500.00 we do not want to pay this much due to the fact we are going to upgrade. Didn't know if this was something we could do ourselves.

I have a Rockwood pop up that I just recently purchased. The lift system is in need of repair, and I have identified the problem as the door side springs. The front spring is broken and out of the conduit, and the rear spring is all jammed up inside the casing. I have found a company that I believe can get me the springs, but it appears to be based on the year of the camper. I can not seem to find the year of the camper anywhere on the unit. Any help anyone can offer me would be appreciated. The camper appears to be circa late 1970's.
We purchased a 1992 Rockwood pop up last weekend. We went to put it down and the chain came off. We don't know how to get to the chain to replace it.The crank and chain are located in the front driver's side of the camper. Can anyone give up insturctions (pictures would help too) on how to do this? Thanks a bunch!!!

My rockwood hardside tent trailor only goes up 2ft then binds up.it seems tobe the rear,I have lubed the rods. I looked the inside cover off to inspect the spring. Do i need to take the out side skin to do the repair? THANKS PHIL
When i went to let my canopy down it went down uneven and pop the screws out from the top. the lift handle seems like it is stripped and will only raise the back. i need any informaion on how to fix it our find a manual on how to fix the problem.

I have a 1986 rockwood pop up camper and my problem is that when I crank it up it sounds like it is striped out,and then when I get it up only the two front posts lock into place. Is there anyway to replace the back post. Thank you Dan
The main cable on the lift system broke and i can't find a replacement cable ANYWHERE, if anyone knows where to find that part please let me know, thank you very much
Spring has come out of the side back driver side rear. It causes the top not to raise in the back corner. Can not figure out how to get the spring assembly in the center of the camper apart that the wench connects to. Also dont know where to get the parts to fix it.
You dont need to remove the skin. My spring broke on my 88 Rockwood. It was in the rear end of the trailer opposite the crank end. I was able to crank the roof up to max height then pin the roof up with custom cut 2x4's. When the roof is up all the way you can see the end of the spring, it has a loop and the loop is pressed into a slot on the chain drive mechanism. It takes some effort, but you can pry the spring end out and feed it out of the telescoping square tubes. My spring was the lower one so I had to pull the whole chain crank mechanism to get at it. My problem is I don't know where to get the replacement springs. Any iseas? Thanks.

I have a 1979 Rockwood popup and would like to grease the cables or chains that raise the camper up and would like to see if you have anything i can go by to do that. just bought this camper real cheap and in good condition but want to make sure the cable doesnt snap on me when out camping
