We have a 1999 Coleman pop up with a manual crank system (for the roof) that works great when raising the roof. BUT when you reverse crank to lower the roof the spindle that the crank handle fits into just keeps turning and the roof does not move. The cables/whiffletree all look good and clean and greased up. If I use a spark plug wrench (its long and thin) and put it inside the spindle (it engages the Nut on the end of the Whiffle tree) I can crank the roof down slowwwwly.
I am trying to figure out how this mechanism works and what part of it is not working and WHY ?
If anybody knows something - please help
