83 Starcraft Galaxy Gas Electric Refrigerator Ken 7-13-08
Seems like I am having problems with figuring out how the gas electric refrigerator works in my camper. Has anyone had experience with this? My thoughts was that it would cool by either electric or gas or does the gas need to be on the whole time whether gas or electric? Thanks.

The gas does not need to be on all the time - it runs on one or the other - not both !
Your fridge works on the heat absorption principle - and in my opinion not very effective. It has not moving parts so it is very quiet and it does give you the option of gas or electric. These types of fridges 2 way or 3 way take a long time to cool and battle on hot days. It could take as long as 6-8 hours to reach maximum cooling temp! I do not have that time to wait !!
What I did with our pop-up camper was get rid of the 3 way fridge and put in a regular household electric one. Same size and weight. Its cold in about 45 mins. We just did away with gas completely.
Hope this helps
