The way I have my elect. panel wired, It is poss. to get 15A, 220V service or two 110V 15A circuits from a site that only offers 110v 15A service.
I have each leg of my circuit panel connected to an 110V 15A male plug, that are located in my lower compartment. ( Plugs A & B)
I run two extension cords to the power source and probe each outlet with a meter, touching the hot terminal (small slot) to another outlet in the same manner. When I find 220V, I plug in my two cords to those outlets. (Connecting Plugs A & B to each cord)
If I can’t find 220v, I use any two outlets (not on the same duplex outlet) and I have two circuits of 110v, 15 amps each. (Connecting Plugs A & B to each cord)
If I don't need more than 15A, I just use one extension cord connected to A plug and plug the other Male plug (B) into an outlet in the coach that is connected to the opposite leg in the main panel. That supplies power to the whole coach.
If you have anything in your coach that uses 220V, you cannot use it on the last connection described above.
If someone switches your plugs, if you are using the 220V.system, you will only have 110v. to your 220v. appliances that will make them inoperative, but will do no harm as there wouldn’t be any currant flow..
If you don't understand this post and electricity, DON'T TRY IT! |
