Bus slows uphill? word 7-9-04
I have a 1989 Thomas B700 automatic and I love it. When I go uphills it slows drastically, anyone know how to prevent the sluggish uphills?

You have a fuel advance problem. It is possibly a transmission to engine link problem. When the transmission begins to slow down, it sends a signal, of some kind, to the engine indicating a need for more fuel. Obviously this is not happening. Your engine commpression might be low due to engine wear. Have the engine checked at a shop that can make such a diagnosis. Vacuum leaks can also rob an engine of power. One other thing, if your bus uses any kind of exhaust gas recirculation, check the system to be sure it is working properly.
