Plumbing & Propane David 3-20-04
I'm converting a 71-passenger International conventional.

I'm open to ideas on plumbing and propane - what kind of lines to run, and what kind of propane tank is normally used.

Manchester does make an under-carriage tank that sells for $ 463 - I'm open to other ideas - Thanks

Well i haven't done it myself, i did look into it when i was converting my bus. I'm in Manitoba, Canada and although there are no real regulations on what one person can do to there own vehicle after it passes inspection, there is still a few things that are illegal. For example, In Canada and the United States it is illegal to drive with the valves open on your propane tanks, HUGE FINES!! Also all the tubing for your propane must be made of pressure rated tubing, I know PVC tubing is acceptable, and that all seals and joints or "T" fittings must be outside the vehicle. As for propane tanks, any certified tank will do, just most prefer the larger tanks for the convience of less filling. tanks must also be stored outside the passenger compartment.

Have Fun

For the interior LP lines on our Schoolie...I used black steel piping & fittings rated for Propane.

Works fine and is really strong.

I've got some pics on our site..on how we went about building the Lp system that might be a little helpful.
