My friends and I formed a limited liability corporation and bought a bus together. Now no one will insure us. Funny thing is that we consulted our insurance man before the purchase, and it was his idea. Seems his mouth was writing checks his agency couldn't cash.
Take the seats out, do some conversions to make it a camper. Title it as an RV.
Our bus was looked at by the Virginia DMV and was reclassified as a MTH (motor home)on the title.
Our insurance was easy to get and cost 125 bucks every 6 months. Tags wern't bad either... 25 bucks a year.
I am in Va and trying to insure a Short Bus. Can probably get DMV to reclassify as a Recreational Vehicle, but Progressive will not insure RV's based on school buses andy more.
