Bus Values glen garton 2-9-04
I plan on bidding on a yellow 1989 chevy 16 passenger school bus (van) which is also a 4 wheel drive. It is just coming out of the school district fleet and in the last year has received a new engine, transfer case, transmission and differentials. Any thoughts on what this van might be worth would be appreciated. Thanks

Its tough to say what its worth by looking in a nada type publication. I just sold two 1985 ford van type cutaways with 14' box, delivery type set up.
one sold for 2000 the other for 650.00 so its all in the condition and what the buyer is looking for. In your case if you are looking for a 4x4 in this size it would cost several thousand to make the repairs you menthioned. If I were making the purchase and the body was in as good of shape as you described the mechanical condition, i would pay between 3000.00 and 4500.00 dependant on paint tires rust breaks etc.

later
pat

Our church has an 1989 GMC Superior Bus, Body Type: YY, Model: Cut, Mileage 189,840, that we would like to sell. Starts, runs, good tires. Can you tell me what it is worth or where I can find the value. The body and interior are in good shape.
