Retired School Bus question Walt Stevens 1-26-04
I am purchasing a retired school bus. I notice where some states require painting the bus any color other than School Bus Yellow. Does anyone know if this is a requirement in Colorado? Is it nationwide?

I am not sure if it is a law, but I do know that most rv parks don't want yellow. In colorado or any where else across the nation, be careful, a school bus conversion is a target for police. It also sends up red flags to rv park owners and store parking lot security. They might have had to deal with someone in a converted school bus who they didn't like for whatever reason.I have a 1961 ford school bus painted brown and in fairly good shape and was persicuted in Texas,Colo.,Okla.,and other places for no viable reason. please be careful!!!

From what I understand its require for any owner of a retired shool bus to paint it. If you are found driving a rv bus that has the "school bus yellow" then you will be ticketed big time.
