Looking for a bus Dale 1-25-04
Me and a couple of buds have been looking for a bus about 10 windows or so long, to put a back room that can be either a small bed room or dirtbike storage, and the front able to fit a couple couches and chairs. The problem is finding a bus like this for cheep and what kind of bus would be the best. Any info would be great thanks

Where are you and how much do you want to spend?
My advice, free and darn well worth it... kd5kfl 1-25-04
Gas engine buses get 2-3 MPG. Thank you, no.

Diesels get 7-10, depending on a lot of things. Most are rear-engine, good luck getting a bike past the motor.

The exception is a Crown. DD 6-71 laying on its side under the floor. Built like a brick outhouse. Available all over the west coast for $2500 up.

You're on the right track, i think a school bus is going to be the right choice for you.I'd suggest checking out local auction facilities, they can most likely tell you how often they auction off school buses and for how much. I'm even on a notification list for when buses come to my local autioneers. Also a visit to your local school division to scout out some of ther older buses, as in most states and all across Canada where i am, they have to get rid of there buses after 12 years of service regardless of condition. I prefer gas powered buses, because they have power all through there rpm range and if you change your axle ratio to obtain higher highway speeds the engine will be able to handle the steeper new ratio.

My two cents

Jared
