School Bus Conversions Scott Pletz 1-22-04
Hello all, Fist of all I think this forum is great. I have not personaly convertes a bus to an RV but will soon but have gotten allot of information here. Thanks.

Here is my question: Is there any company out there that is currently purchasing buses and converting them on a comercial level? I have looked and found none. Maybe my search criteria is incorrect. Please let me know if anyone has this information.

Thanks Scott

Re: School Bus Conversions kd5kfl 1-28-04
Conventional wisdom: the shell should be 1/3 of the value of the conversion.

Schoolie: about $3000

Conversion: $6000

Not a lot of room for profit.

Commercial converters buy late model IC buses, make high end conversions for the wealthy. Schoolies are for do-it-yourself types.

I got my 1989 Wayne Lifestar bus
for a bottle of "Crown". Does that
mean 2 more bottles and it
will be done???

My 1961 ford weighs about 12,000+.You can goto a set of scales meant for large vehicles e.g., Truck weigh stations or try the local dump, they have scales.I hope that helps.
