I wanted to switch my 12v battery to two 6v and change thier locations to the rear of the coach
if i use standard size cable to run from the batterys existing location to the new area would i run into any problems?
A couple of points for your battery conversion.
1. If you are going to run a long distance you should use heavy gage cable because cable length will increase resistance but heavier gage cable will fix that.
2. if you use 6 volt batteries to make 12 volts you must wire them in series. Connect the negative of one battery to the positive of the other and use the unused positive and negative terminals as your 12volt = and -
3. Why would you use 6 volt batteries? If you are just trying to get more battery power this is the wrong approch. To get more battery you can connect as many 12 volt batteries as you want and still have 12 volts. You just connect them in parallel. To do this you just connect all positive terminals together and all negative terminals togrther, then connect up to any positive and any negative.
I've had pretty bad luck with 12 v. batteries not lasting...i was told that the 6 v golf cart batteries were the way to go. had a dealer in fla. who was selling 6v. for $50 each, new. didn't have the money at the time, darn. i use my batteries to run refridge. etc. when i'm not around. 12 v. make it just past the warrenty exp. date.....
