I am not sure exactly what you are referring to when you say tack head.
If you are referring to the tachometer, Stewart-Warner still makes and has available most gauges to fit your bus. The accompanying hardware to make it all work is also available.
You will need to go to a marine parts dealer rather than a truck parts dealer. Most truck parts people get glazed over eyes when you ask about tach drive cables more than 36" long.
