Somewhere on the engine should be a manufacturer's tag that should have all the information you need.
On my '79 Crown with a 6-71T, the tag is on the top of the valve cover. You can see it when the driver's side engine compartment door is opened.
On my '69 Crown with a Cummins NHH262, the tag is on the bottom side of the engine. One has to crawl under the bus to find the tag.
In either case, a good job of steam cleaning revealed the tags to me.
