What make and model diesel engine would be the best choice to replace the original stock, rear mounted, gasoline powered 478 cc 7.8 liter v6 engine in my 1966 bluebird? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
We own a 1965 Blue Bird Wanderlodge, which is a flat fronted bus; if yours is too I may have an answer for you. Blue bird used 391 gas (dump truck) engines for years. They are not the most powerful but they will do the job. To get one out of the crate from "American Engines" In Dallas and ohter cities nationwide was quoted to me, parts and labor 3,359.00.. with your engine as a trade in. In about 1973 BB stated using 3208 CATS which fit in easily. Hope this helps..
