Need Info Lars 2-13-03
I have just purchased a 1964 IH/Carpenter schoolbus and I need info on it. It has a RD406 6cyl. gas engine and delco remy ign.alternater etc. what I need most is electrical help.schematics would be great.
Any manuals or advice would be apprecited.
thanks,
Lars
Re: Need Info Mark O. 2-15-03
The electrics in a Carpenter bus are pretty straight forward. The schematic was usually glued to the underside of the First Aid compartment.

If that has detoriated or disappeared you will have a bit of a problem finding a new one since Carpenter is out of business.

The IHC stuff is exactly the same as the same vintage IHC truck. Your local IHC/Navistar/International dealer should be able to help you with those sorts of details.

The only hard part of figuring out the wiring on any conventional school bus is the interface between the body and the chassis. Sometimes the interface can be problematical.

If you could be specific about the problems you are having I might be able to be specific with some help for you.

Good luck and happy trails.

Mark O.
