Seat Foam Cushion Mitch 1-5-03
Me and 5 other friends just purchased a 1988 Ford Bus. We will be converting it into a party/tailgating bus for LSU football games (we are die-hard fans). Anyway, we plan on installing bench seats pretty much on both sides, minus room for a keg fridge and toilet. Here's the question...where can we get cheap/decent foam for seat cushions. The seats will be used for sitting and sleeping. What I have found so far on the internet is very expensive foam. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

If you're looking for cheap foam, you might want to look for old seat cusions and pillows within, but especially behind thrift stores. You can put fabric over them and no-one will ever know the difference.

Visiting the dump on a semi-regular basis is probably the best way to get some. Find some people dumping an old couch and you've got a whole bunch of foam.

Buses are large and dangerous machines, I hope you have an experienced driver who has used long and large vehicles before. Your mirrors are essential. Make sure you can see the rear wheels of your bus from them.

Good luck with your drunken exploits, and be careful.

Call TESCO at 800-227-3572. They have cheap foam.
Re: Seat Foam Cushion Georgia Southern 2-20-03
Hey Mitch,
I go to Georgia Southern and we just bought a 1982 school bus for the same reason. We took out all the seats and we are going to paint it Georgia Red and take it on road trips. Anyways do you have any pics of your bus. Well if you reply on this message board I'll send you some pics of our bus. See ya
