Would you know if a 1957 Reo school bus is negitive or positive
ground???

If it is 6-volts, it most probably is positive ground.

If it is 12-volts and uses a Chrysler or IHC type of ignition system it is most probably positive ground as well.

The easiest way to figure it out is to pull the starter. Hook it up and see which way the starter turns.

No, the EASIEST way is to put any voltmeter across each side of the battery to ground. Much easier than pulling the starter (or are you pulling someone's leg?)
