School bus to mobile laboratory Yosemite Institute 4-19-02
I am researching for information about possibly converting an old school bus to a mobile water sampling lab for our school field science program in Yosemite national Park. Any ideas of prices, other people done this type of conversion, depreciation $ numbers..
Re: BUS OPTION Nic 4-22-02
:It is do-able if you have the time and effort.
A good workable safe used bus runs about $2000 to $3000.
I would suggest a gas motor and a standard transmission...more reliable and easier to work on when broken.
Internationals are the most common with various body types.
The conversions should not be to hard, get building(house type) sinks and plumbing use benches and electrical like you would in a lab.
If you do follow up on this feel free to contact me at nreitzel@cdstech.com
I have some experience in water testing lab, my father owned a testing lab till he retired.
Happy trails
