Buyers remorse Elaine 10-9-04
We just bought a 33ft. A class, used. It's really nice, though we really hadn't planned on getting something that big. It's probably irrelevant though. The night after we bought it I had a bad attack buyers remorse! "It's too expensive! It's too big! and on and on...!" Basically, we probably didn't overpay for it and really love it and I am wondering if others have experienced the same sort of after-buying agony I did and how common is it.
Also, is it some sort of dealer policy to not provide any maintenence records for used RV's. We've had it happen a couple of times.
Re: buyers remorse Ken Dalton 10-17-04
Your email struck a chord, because I just retired, and we have been looking at 30-34' coaches for two or three months. We had a 22' for 12 years, then the kids grew up, I got busy, etc.

When discussing length, my wife Carolee was concerned about part limitations, etc., but she wants the rear queen, sofa, chairs, etc. She finally decided that, at our age, comfort takes precedence.

So we have shopped price, too, but buying a coach is like buying a computer - there is no "right" or "wrong" time. You just buy it when you're ready for it. You don't buy it as an investment (unless you're going into the leasing business) in money, but rather, the way I see it, an investment in experiences and memories. Ergo, we are buying another one because of the memories of all the good times we had in the last one.

So don't worry about it. Enjoy it. Appreciate it for what it is, and use it - even if you're just going out for the day. It's amazing how much more you enjoy doing some things, or going some places, when you have your own "house" right there with you.

If we can help any other way, feel free to contact us:

Ken and Carolee,
Thanks so much for your response. I'm feeling a lot better now and am really seeing the advantages now. I was concerned about limitations because of size also. We went to a national forest campground at Hungry Horse Resovoir and I thought, we could fit in nearly every one of these sites. Kind of a bumpy dirt road getting there but was pleased to note that our motorhome was a much better ride than our Jeep Cherokee! I'm excited about all the future trips to come. Thanks for your good wishes. Elaine
