My parents just bought a Motor Home ( 1991 ElDorado) and when they got it home my Dad went out to plug the rv into the electicity from the house so he could run everything and he realized it is all wired 220. The microwave and fridge each have something to convert the electicity to 110 but the roof air conditioner has to run off of 220...what do they need to do? They have called around to quite a few camp sites and "some" have 220 hookups and a lot don't. Should they change out the roof air and replace it with a unit that runs off of 110 or is there anything else they can do? Please help...Thanks...Steven

Did you find a solution to your A.C. problem?
When your dad's rv was ordered from the factory, it was pobably intended to operate off of the generator only. Your inverter system that converts direct current to alternating current won't carry that kind of load. What kind of connector/plug do you have for external power hook up?

I bought a used Class-A motor home.It has dual roof air units.Can anyone tell me what temperature that these normal produce,or what I can expect.In Oregon on a 85 degree day the inside of the coach isn't cool at all.I have to use both as well as dash air conditioning to get it bearable.I complained to the place of purchase,but was told they seem to be cooling enough.It is a 98 model 33 foot.
