CoachShare Launches Innovative Program That Makes Luxury Motor Coach Ownership Affordable

San Diego, CA - CoachShare has launched an innovative fractional ownership program that provides consumers access to a luxury motorhome at a fraction of the cost. CoachShare, a pioneer in the fractional coach ownership industry, and an Authorized Monaco Coach Representative, helps meet the needs of the $12 billion recreational vehicle industry that has seen more than a 15 percent increase in retail sales during the first half of 2004.

According to Jim Palmer, CoachShare CEO, university studies indicate that, while increasing numbers of people are turning to recreation vehicles (RVs) as a source of travel; typical motor coach owners use their vehicles only a few weeks each year. “While these owners enjoy a few weeks of travel,” said Palmer, “they absorb acquisition, depreciation, and operating costs throughout the entire year.” However, with fractional ownership, costs are shared by multiple owners so a consumer pays only for the weeks they plan on using the coach.

“The fractional owner receives remarkable savings, as well as a fully-equipped coach with all the amenities, including monogrammed linens and decorator items tailored specifically for each consumer,” said Palmer. In addition, Palmer points out that CoachShare takes the hassle out of ownership by managing virtually every detail including insurance, storage, day-to-day management, maintenance, repairs, DMV fees and more.

Purchase price for a luxury coach can range from $100,000 to well over $500,000. Fractional ownership dramatically reduces the consumers’ financial liability. Fractional owners can purchase from 5 weeks to 24 weeks of ownership depending on the program selected. “For example,” said Palmer, “a 6-week ownership share provides the consumer with total cost savings of more than 75 percent compared to private ownership. And, the program provides cost savings of greater than 50 percent when compared to renting.”

“The concept and development of CoachShare comes directly from the rising popularity of driving vacations, demand for superior value, and demographics,” said Palmer. “Our baby boomer population is taking to the highway, and they want to travel in comfort and style at a cost that makes sense.”
